MONDO DRAG: Zweites Album der Heavy-Psych-Rocker aus Oakland erscheint im Januar 2015 | 2nd album of Oakland's Heavy Psych Rockers to be released in Januaray 2015


Das sehnlichst erwartete zweite Album von Oaklands Heavy-Psych-Rockern MONDO DRAG erscheint am 16. Januar 2015 auf Kozmik Artifactz. Alle sieben Tracks auf der LP wurden analog aufgenommen und werden sowohl in CD-Form als auch auf hochwertigem 180g-Vinyl erhältlich sein.

Von den Vorwätern des Heavy Psych, Prog und Proto-Metal inspiriert, kreieren MONDO DRAG einen Sound, wie er seit Jahrzehnten nicht mehr vernommen werden konnte. Die Einzigartigkeit rührt wahrtscheinlich daher, dass die Hauptmitglieder John Gamino, Nolan Girard und Jake Sheley in einem Entfernungsradius von gerade einmal einem Kilometer aufwuchsen, dieselbe Schule besuchten, in ein und derselben Szene abhingen, und seit 15 Jahren gemeinsam Musik machen.

The highly anticipated second album by Oakland's finest heavy-psych-rockers MONDO DRAG will see the light of day through Kozmik Artifactz on January 16th, 2015. It contains seven analogue recorded tracks. To be released on CD & high performance 180g vinyl!

Under the spiritual guidance of the forefathers of heavy psych, prog, and proto-metal, Mondo Drag has created an amalgamation of sounds the likes of which have not resounded through the atmosphere for decades. The band's unique sound, and rare cohesion probably stem from the fact that core members John Gamino, Nolan Girard, and Jake Sheley actually grew up within a one mile radius from each other, attended the same schools, were a part of the same scene, and have played music with each other for 15 years.

"Movements has a nice warm 70s classic rock and soul and blues rock feel to it. There are plenty of great guitar riffs, the vocals are excellent and it’s easy to get quite a few of the beats stuck in your head. It has a familiar but yet unique sound. It’s modern but yet feels so 1970-ish, even the artwork has a certain aspect that screams 1970s. This is a highlight album for 2011. We all know that modern rock radio today is crap and missing something. The Black Crowes are one of the few modern bands that make it somewhat enjoyable. Since they’re on hiatus someone needs to step up and fill that void. I believe that The Dirty Streets are one of those bands that are certainly capable of filling that void."
