"Of Throes And Blight"
What if the actual doom running in your player would sound much too 70s-like, retro and uplifting again, with too much psychedelic influences – or just pathetic, way too depressive and is simply not serving the mood you are actually in? Choose FUNERALIUM from France, who are celebrating deadly slow, tons heavy, driven by finger thick bass strings, still pushing, distorted to the bones funeral doom metal reminiscent of Ahab, My Shameful or cult destroyers Thergoton, also of earache causing feedback extremists Khanate when talking about minimalist standing riffs and sonic nothingness. The martyrdom is filled to the brim with pure anger and despise spread on two CDs and songs clocking in at around thirty minutes, three times, and one at ten minutes. With names like "Slowly we crawl towards crumbs", "Spit at my face, I will pluck your tongue out", "Vermin" and "Vanishing once and for all" everything is said. That underlined lyrically by the gurgling, hate spitting death/sludge style vocals, "Of Throes And Blight" is the most abyssal and disturbing funeral doom I have been rolled over, crushed and dismembered by since years!
