If you love your stoner vocally as desperate as Soundgarden and Alice In Chains then DSW is your band of choice coming around the corner with maximum blues-driven guitars and trippy spaced-out journeys. Even 'Mother In Earth' – a western style version of 'Mother' by Danzig – turns out way slower, deeper and bluesier than the original. Long story short: "Tales From The Cosmonaut" is a great stoner album mixing the best grunge feel of the early 90s with slow doom riffage that is deeply rooted in the heavy blues! (SM)
"After four long years, Italian stoner rockers DSW are finally ready to reveal to the world their second studio album: Tales from the Cosmonaut will be released by Acid Cosmonaut Records on January 2017.
DSW is a stoner band born in the desert of Lecce (Italy) in April 2010. After various vicissitudes, including the exhausting search for a drummer, the band reaches a first initial nucleus and records the EP Dawn Storm Watchers, that was released in March 2011 and met good feedbacks. Immediately after the EP, the line-up changes: the singer Mattia Marchello is replaced by Stefano "Wolf" Lombardi. Wasting no time, in September 2011 the four began recording for their first studio album, Dust Storm Warning, which, after a long gestation, was released in May 2012.
Their new album features seven brand new songs able to cover all the ranges of modern heavy psych, showing the evolution of their style, achieved also thanks to a large number of gigs supporting acts like like Elder, Mos Generator, Mutoid Man, Zippo, L'Ira del Baccano, Void of Sleep, Karl Marx was a Broker and Anuseye."
